On December 8, 1975, Mr André Bettencourt being Mayor, is created the Association of the Friends of the Park and the Castle of Etelan, according to the law 1901,
the purpose of who is: to create and animate structures allowing the use of the Park and the castle of Etelan, to contribute to the evolution of the quality of the life in Basse-Seine in particular within the framework of the Park of Brotonne.

In the statutes, one specifies:
The Action of Association is exerted more particularly:

By its participation in the life of the Commune of Saint-Maurice d' Etelan and neighbouring Communes.
In the restoration, conservation and the development of the Castle of Etelan, its Park and its commun runs.
By the creation and the animation of cultural activities, tourist and leisures.
By the protection of the Site, Fauna and Flora.

Association authorized to receive gifts and legacy by decision of January 10, 1976 by the Sub-prefect of Le Havre. Organization or work of general interest.
